Introduction to Glass Beadmaking

Christine Gibbens, graduate of the jewels and metals program at Georgian College, will demonstrate the art of lampwork beadmaking. Using glass rods, steel mandrels, a torch and graphite marver, students will create 5 to 10 glass beads to be made into a piece of jewellery. Also demonstrated will be the making of stringers to decorate beads, as well as feathering and shaping.

Students are requested to tie back long hair and wear long sleeves.
