Our Instructors
Angie Bohan & Terry Kennedy
Like a terrific tag team, "the dynamic duo" has been part of
the heart and soul of Huronia Art Glass for the last six years. Both teach
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, and Angie also works those
afternoons in the store. Terry is often around, too, so they can both
regularly supply invaluable expertise. They are truly fantastic and gifted
individuals.
Terri Kennedy
(Yes, the name is the same, but it is spelled differently, and this person
is a she.) She teaches the Beginner Program on Saturday mornings, and
she's a regular on Thursday evenings. Terri has a lovely, caring way about
her, and she will be happy to walk you through your project. If you like
to be pampered, she's your gal.
Rita Thompson
Rita teaches Intermediate Classes on Saturday mornings from 9:30
a.m. - 12 noon, in all seasons. If you want to make sure that you will
get your project done, this is your gal. Full steam ahead, that's Rita.
She is a prolific artist, and much of the work you may see in our front
window comes from Rita's abundant efforts. As well, she's a champ when
it comes to repairs and very handy, might we add.
Edythe Oxley
Even her name sings educator and creator. Her domain is specialty seminars
in Decorative Soldering. This lady is a very special artist. Everyone
that has ever done anything with Edythe just raves about her. It's been
8 years, and she still packs them in. If you wish to contact her, her
studio is in Markdale, Ontario. Visit her, and pick up one of her sought
after originals.
Don McClennen
Here you have one of finest stained glass fusers in the province of Ontario.
The word exceptional falls short of describing his amazing seminars concerning
this art & science of a mélange of melting, joining, manipulating,
and molding compatible glass. He teaches three, highly organized seminars
a couple of times a year for 3 consecutive Saturdays 12:30 p.m. - 3:30
p.m., and he has been doing this for about six years. His jewellery, sculptures,
bowls, plates, etc., are "to die for". His studio is located
in Oshawa, Ontario.
Sue Waller
While most customers know Sue as an invaluable resource of the Huronia
Art Glass staff, she has also taken on a teaching role, on Wednesday
mornings. As well, Tuesdays and Thursdays, she supplies the expertise
during the Open Studio time. She does it all, so she can be of significant
service to you. Come on in, and have a chat with her. You'll be glad
you did.
Jan Pugh
As a retired teacher, Jan brings with her strong instructional skills.
From teaching the technical aspects of the Morton Sytem to experimenting
and creating one-of-a-kind glass fused pieces, Jan does it all.
